ROSOLINI PROVINCE OF SYRACUSE
Rosolini is an Italian town of 21,674 inhabitants in the province of Syracuse in Sicily.
Rosolini is 49 kilometers from Syracuse, and is located in the southwestern part of the province. It rises at the foot of the Iblei mountains and is located between the provinces of Siracusa and Ragusa. Of the municipality, which is mostly an agricultural center, remains the oldest part of the town, built at the beginning of the sixteenth century, which is of nineteenth-century imprint. Little remains of the original core of the center. Rosolini, however, is rich in quarries and ancient archaeological sites that precede the Greco-Roman domination.
The northern part of the municipality of Rosolini is separated from the main one and is divided into two parts, joined only by a road. This is due to the legacy of the ancient boundaries between the baronates of the Val di Noto.
