BELL TOWER OF THE CATHEDRAL OF SIENA

The Bell Tower of the Cathedral of Siena stands on piazza del Duomo in Siena. With its 77 meters high is one of the most famous landmarks of the city, along with the Torre del Mangia (88 meters, 102 with lightning rod).

It was built in Romanesque style for the Church of santa Maria Assunta, the Cathedral is in bands of white and green marble and equipped with six rows of Windows, from Windows (those below) become style (those above).

It was completed in 1313.Il Bell Tower has six bells, that almost form a diatonic scale correct, of different eras and mergers between them. Their sound under acoustic point of view is definitely not the best but are very interesting from the historical point of view. (wikipedia)
