PHYSICS MUSEUM BOLOGNA
The Physics Museum has transferred the eighteenth-century materials to Palazzo Poggi.
Today the Museum maintains the following important nuclei:
instruments of experimental physics of the nineteenth century,
the original didactic and experimental equipment of Augusto Righi (1850-1920),
the Quran Majorana (1871-1957) didactic and pure research or applied research,
radiocommunication training institutes born on the tradition of the studios of Righi and Marconi and developed by Majorana and Todesco.
For the twentieth century a number of instruments exist:
from vacuum tubes to thermo-valves;
from the first computing machines to the more advanced ones;
from traditional refractor microscopes to electrostatic and electronic refractories;
from the first vacuum pumps to the latest ones;
from electrostatic and electromagnetic measuring instruments;
from the foggy to the wired and spark chambers.
